Mira Winters

The dream journal came first. Mira Winters kept one for years before she knew lucid dreaming was something you could practice. She edits GLD now, and the journals are still how she works. She tests on her own nights, then writes up what she finds. Her testing is unglamorous on purpose. Reality checks spaced through the day. MILD before sleep. Wake-back-to-bed on weekends, when losing an hour won't wreck the week. She notes which techniques stick, which ones start to feel like homework, and which ones quietly died after the first week. She tracks dream recall the same way, recording how often she remembers, how much detail survives breakfast, and what patterns show up over a month of pages. That process is the review process. A product has to hold up in months of real use before she writes it up, and when she does, the caveats sit in the same paragraph as the praise. She presents nothing as a shortcut to a lucid dream. She keeps two ledgers, separate on purpose. One holds what her own nights have shown her. The other holds what the research supports, and she names her sources when she writes. She is upfront that her own experience is not evidence. She will not promise a lucid dream by Friday, because nobody can. What she will do is protect your sleep. If a product asks you to trade rest for a chance at lucidity, she will tell you to skip it. If a technique tells you to push through exhaustion, same answer. GLD is education about lucid dreaming and dream recall, not a clinic and not a guarantee. If you need help with sleep or mental health, this is not the place to find it, and she says so plainly. Take what is useful and leave the rest. She would rather you keep the journal and sleep well than chase every technique she writes about.
